Education, Credentials, and Community Involvement
Clayton attended the University of California at Berkeley and Brigham Young University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he excelled in estate planning, taxation, international business transactions, and appellate writing.
Further demonstrating his dedication to professional excellence, Clayton became an Accredited Estate Planner® in 2020, a credential awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils to recognize specialized knowledge and experience in estate planning.
Clayton also has a strong record of community service, reflecting his commitment to giving back. He served as a West Hawaii Director for the Young Lawyer’s Division (2016–2018), a scholarship ambassador for the Hawaii Community Foundation (2016 and 2017), a Director with Family Support Services of West Hawaii (2016–2018), and was an active Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Kona (2015–2018).
Outside of his legal practice, Clayton enjoys being a dedicated father to his four children. In his free time, he loves golfing, surfing, paddle boarding, CrossFit, playing the guitar, and is an avid reader.
